it's here!

It came yesterday! The big package that will determine where I will be for 18 months is finally in my room, 4 feet way from mee! So this is how it went down... I was being particularly lazy so I stayed in bed going through morning twitters and checking my morning email. All of a sudden, I heard a loud kerplunk from the post man's drop off of mail in my mail box. Today's disposal of mail didn't have the usual electricity bill or car payment sound to it, no, it was much much louder and made more of a statement to my ears. I actually haven't been crazy about running to the mail box at all since I sent in my papers on Wednesday, June 8, but for some reason, my gut told me to jump out of bed at lightening speed and get dibs on checking the mail. As I opened the mailbox, there it was! The first beautiful, large, white package I'd been hoping to receive for far too many weeks. I actually did not expect to receive my mission call til' at least next week because it's only been 9 days since I sent my papers in! Quick anyone? I didn't know what to do when I obtained the envelope in my hands, I mean, this has never happened to me before in my life and will never occur again... ever! So I looked down and stared at it for 5 seconds. I had to tell someone obviously, so I ran to the nearest person around me, my sister, Natalie. She was sleeping, but I decided that this was a perfectly appropriate time to be selfish and woke her up. I was careful to make sure I was loud and clear and yelled, "Natalie! It's here! My mission call is here!" Natalie, obviously not aware of how this mission call-opening procedure works, immediately said, "Open it." Ummm, hello, this is not just another wells fargo statement I am holding in my hands. So I quickly called my sister at BYU-Provo, Rita. Rita would understand this much better than sibling Natalie. Rita freaked and said she was nervous ha. She quickly reminded me, "You better not open it until I get home on Monday!" MONDAY!?!?! Are you serious!? You really believe I am capable of waiting that long?! This just confused me more about when the appropriate time to open it should be. So I called my mom... no anwers. Then dad... no answer. What is wrong with these people, shouldn't they be vibing that this is the most important mail-opening/receival of my life? Obviously not. For the first time in my life, I thanked God that my parents are now basic-level texters, so I texted both of them. My dad, much too similarly to Natalie, called me back and innocently and honestly asked, "So where are you going?" Oh dad. For real? You really thought I would just open it without you there. Wow, I would never allow that of my future-missionary offspring. So I explained to my non-member dad how mission calls idealy work when a person recieves their call letter. My mom called back finally and said that it was up to me when I opened it. So, the bottom line is that my dad is picking Rita up from Vegas on Sunday and they will both be back on Monday, the day I will open my mission call! Monday evening at 6:30pm to be precise. Not one minute earlier or later! So... I am now currently holding the position as the world's most patient person and holding off opening my mission call, aka my future, for 3 whole days! If this situation doesn't teach me patience, I don't think anything will. Monday, please hurry and come faster than usual, thanks.
